Ink Adhesion
|
The characteristic of ink acting as an adhesive due to setoff and/or slow drying ink, which in turn are usually the result of poorly adjusted press settings controlling the flow of ink onto the paper. The quantity of ink applied to the sheet or web can be so excessive that the ink acts as an adhesive, causing the sheets to stick together. When attempting to separate the sheets, some of the paper fibers can be torn from the surface of the paper.
