TIF or TIFF format (Tagged Image File
Format) is the most common format for saving bitmapped images
that will be printed or imported into a page layout program such as
QuarkXPress™. It can be used on both the Mac and the PC. It
was originally created by the Aldus Corp. for saving scanned images.
A TIFF file can be CMYK, RGB, grayscale, index, or bitmap.
