Copy Placement

Promotional Mailers

When designing a folded mailer, it is a good idea to have a sample of how it will be folded. The sample will help when deciding where copy should be placed so that it falls in the right location when folded. At times the copy may flow across folds from one panel to the next.

Placement of the mailing information is critical. The delivery information must be located on one of the outside panels of the finished folded mailer. Also, the placement of the copy on the panel must meet the requirements set up by the United States Postal Service. See Postal Regulations - Outgoing Mail for more details.

If the mailer contains a business reply card, it should generally be located on one of the end panels of the flat (unfolded) mailer so that it can be easily detached from the mailer. The business reply card must also meet the requirements set up by the USPS. See Postal Regulations - Business Reply Mail  for more details.
